Das Mittelmeer gilt nach wie vor als eine der gefährlichsten Fluchtrouten weltweit und das ist menschengemacht. Europa definierte sich immer schon und zunehmend konsequenter als Festung, Frontex wird milliardenschwer aufgerüstet, durch das europäische Parlament hallte vor nicht allzulanger Zeit ein lautstarkes "Send them back!", gefolgt von Jubelstürmen. Jene, die geduldet sind, werden nach ihrer Wertigkeit am Arbeitsmarkt definiert. Der Wert eines Menschenlebens allein reicht nicht aus, um geschützt zu werden.
Trotz des deutlichen Rückgangs von Migration in den letzten Jahren, starben allein im 1. Halbjahr 2026 fast genau so viele Menschen auf dem Mittelmeer wie im gesamten Jahr 2025. Das ist politisch gewollt.
Um so wichtiger, dass sich Strukturen aus der Zivilbevölkerung formieren, die in Eigeninitiative Hilfe ermöglichen. Sea-Eye rettet seit über einer Dekade Menschen vor dem Ertrinken.
Dafür benötigt es finanzielle Unterstützung. Jeder Euro kann dabei helfen, dem Versagen der europäischen Migrationspolitik entgegenzuwirken und Menschenlebens zu retten.

Your donation saves lives. It goes directly to Sea-Eye e.V., an organisation for civil sea rescue. Sea rescue is still carried by civil society. Sea-Eye goes where Europe looks away and closes itself off. Every euro helps us run missions, protect lives and make the humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean visible.
No. Listing your campaign and using the provided texts, image material and other resources is free of charge. Costs may arise from your own activity itself. We cannot reimburse or pre-finance the organisation or implementation of your fundraising campaign. Small donations are also very welcome. If you first cover your own expenses, such as a flea-market stall fee, and then donate the remaining proceeds or part of them, that is great too. To generate more donations, we recommend displaying the Sea-Eye x YOU posters at your activity and telling people about your campaign.
