About Sea-Eye e.V.

We have been saving lives on the world’s deadliest migration route for more than ten years.

For more than ten years, Sea-Eye e.V. has been searching for people in distress at sea on the world’s deadliest migration route and fighting against death in the Mediterranean. More than 18,000 people have been rescued and brought to a safe place. Our work is a response to the failed migration policy of the European Union, which refuses to take responsibility for the thousands of deaths in the Mediterranean.

Sea-Eye is not only active at sea. With more than 700 members, over 1,000 volunteer crew members on rescue missions, around 40 permanent staff, 30 local groups, strong partners and many thousands of supporters in civil society, we campaign for a migration policy based on solidarity, so that people no longer have to expose themselves to this life-threatening danger in the future.
